Valerie Thomas is an African-American scientist and inventor best known for her patented illusion transmitter and contributions to NASA research.
Thomas accepted a position at NASA.
Thomas attended a high school for girls that downplayed math and science.
In 1980, Thomas received a patent for an illusion transmitter.
Unlike flat mirrors, which produce images that appear to be inside, or behind the mirror, concave mirrors create images that appear to be real, or in front of the mirror itself.

8.Walker helped fund the NAACP’s anti-lynching movement in 1917 and funded the “colored” YMCA in Harlem, NY in 1914.
9. Madam Walker moved to St. Louis and became a member of the African Methodist Episcopal Church.

ReplyDeleteFact Two: He was one who was really good at sports for he was an award winning swimmer and starred Dunbar High School in football, baseball, basketball and track and field, winning the James E. Walker Memorial medal as his school’s best all around athlete.

Fact Seven:He was received as a member of the Medical Honorary Society and graduated in 1933 with Master of Surgery and Doctor of Medicine degrees.
Fact Eight:he wrote a dissertation on “Banked Blood” in which he described a technique he developed for the long-term preservation of blood plasma.

An she was one of the first African Americans that had made a million dollars .An not many people liked her .Because of her skin color . slavery was still going on back then . So it was hard for .Black people to be something other than a slave or a factory worker .So has a black woman she was doing good for her self in the economy.

My Inventor Was George Washington Carver.

2.George was born the sickly child of two slaves and would remain frail for most of his childhood.
3.His master sent him to Neosho, Missouri for an early education and graduated from Minneapolis High School in Kansas.
4.In 1887 Carver was accepted into Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa where he became well respected for his artistic talent.
5.In 1896 he received his master’s degree in agriculture and in 1897 discovered two funguses that would be named after him.
6. He was summoned by Booker T. Washington to teach at Tuskegee Normal and Industrial Institute.
7. He would remain frail for most of his childhood.
8.One night a band of raiders attacked his family and stole George and his mother.
9. He eventually mailed an application to Highland University in Kansas and was not only accepted but also offered a scholarship.
10.He was appointed to various boards and committees by the United States Department of Agriculture and was named Man of the Year in 1940 by the International Federation of Architects, Engineers, Chemists and Technicians.
